Miami curfew: New curfew law enforcement in Miami put in place for kids under 17, Miami curfew laws now state that children under 17 have to be home by 11 p.m. This new Miami curfew enforcement is apparently being done to get kids off the street late at night. According to a report from Thursday (Feb. 28), the law that has been in place for nearly 20 years will finally receive full enforcement by Miami police.

Under the Juvenile Curfew Ordinance, anyone under 17 has to home by 11 p.m. unless accompanied by an adult from Sunday through Thursday. On the weekend, that curfew is in place beginning at midnight. On all nights, though, the curfew will extend until 6 a.m. the following morning.

This might be a surprising ordinance to be put in place, but there probably aren't that many parents that will be upset about it. The release from the Miami Police did say that there will be exceptions [...]

30-Year Mortgage Drops, Average interest rates on 30-year home loans dropped to 3.51 percent this week, but remained above 3.5 percent for the fifth week in five months,   Freddie Mac said Thursday.

According to sun-sentinel...The average 30-year, fixed-rate home loan was at 3.56 percent last week, the secondary lender reported. The rate remained almost a quarter percent off the all-time low of 3.31 percent set last November, according to  Freddie Mac.

A year ago the average 30-year fixed rate was at 3.9 percent, Freddie Mac said.

Average rates for 15-year fixed rate mortgages fell slightly to 2.76 percent after being  at  2.77 percent.  It remains close to the record low 2.63 percent  The rates averaged 3.17 a year ago, Freddie Mac said.

Gay Mayoral Candidate Killed, Law enforcement agents on Wednesday afternoon confirmed that the body found near the Mississippi River in Coahoma County is that of Clarksdale mayoral candidate Marco McMillian, who had been missing since early Tuesday.

The body was found around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday near the levee between Sherard and Rena Lara.

Murder suspect brags online, Federal prosecutors are accusing a man from Emmett of illegally setting a fire on public land during last summer's busy wildfire season.

In U.S. District Court in Boise Tuesday, 23-year-old Matthew Williams pleaded not guilty to one count of setting public lands ablaze.......magicvalley.

If convicted, he faces up to five years in prison, fines and probation.

Investigators say Williams is responsible for an August 20 fire that burned 315 acres southwest of Emmett. The fire scorched a combination of land overseen by the Bureau of Land Management and private acreage. Williams was indicted by a federal grand jury earlier this month.
